Getting started

Playing your own library

VMNexus Audio is built for private libraries on your device. Local files are always available, and NAS sources can be added once Premium is active. Playback stays local-first and under your control either way.

Connecting a NAS (network library)

In Source → NAS, enter your server address (SMB), share name, and credentials. Your password is stored encrypted in the Apple Keychain on your device and is never sent to us. VMNexus Audio streams directly from your server, so nothing is copied to a cloud catalog.

Bit-perfect output & DACs

Connect a USB DAC (Lightning or USB-C with Apple's Camera Adapter where supported). When a compatible DAC is connected, VMNexus Audio can deliver bit-perfect audio at the source sample rate. Without an external DAC, audio plays through the built-in output.

DSD (DSF / DFF / DST)

Native DSD files are handled as a real transport requirement and delivered bit-perfect to DACs that support DSD. DSD playback and bit-perfect DAC output are part of VMNexus Audio Premium.

VMNexus Audio Premium

What's included

Premium unlocks NAS streaming, DSD playback, bit-perfect DAC output, and CUE/CD-image playback. Browsing local libraries remains free, and the app always shows the current in-product entitlement state.

Managing or cancelling your subscription

VMNexus Audio Premium is an auto-renewable subscription billed by Apple. To view, change, or cancel it, open the Settings app on your device → tap your name → Subscriptions, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Restoring a purchase

If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, use Restore Purchases on the Premium screen to re-activate your subscription with the same Apple ID.

Troubleshooting

A NAS folder doesn't appear

Confirm the server is reachable on your network, the share name is correct, and SMB is enabled on your NAS. Re-enter credentials in Source → NAS if your password changed.

No sound through my DAC

Make sure the DAC is firmly connected and selected as the output device, and that no other app is holding the audio session. Unplug and reconnect the DAC, then restart playback.

Playback stops in the background

Allow VMNexus Audio to keep running in the background and avoid Low Power Mode during long sessions for uninterrupted high-resolution playback.
